Districts &
Small Business/ Workforce

Here is what conscious connection looks like in relation to our community:

  1. All Small Businesses, in all districts of Park City, working collectively through an organization to solve our biggest obstacles. This group would represent small businesses stakeholders from each district and have a vast array of business sectors working in cohesion with the city in a respectful and productive manner to address worker and small business needs; hiring, housing, parking, seasonality, pay, resources, etc…This group would have the ability to act quickly with resources and support in dire situations, for example solving the employee shortage that is plaguing the early parts of 2021.

  2. Conscious community connection means that when we look at our social equity pillar, we understand that it covers the constraints on time/ resources that we inflict onto our already marginalized community. For example, transportation and removing parking from the PEG development. How is asking our workforce who already can’t afford to live in town to now park out of town and bus in representing social equity? We have now made the unconscious statement that only wealthy people deserve to park in Park City because they will be able to afford $40-50 paid parking at the resorts, Main, etc.. or they can hire black cars/Ubers and other modes of transportation. We have also now put a value on time; the amount of time it will take to get workers to and from the city. We are saying to those who can’t afford to park, your time is not as valuable as wealthy people.
